ABOUT US
Who is BearTrax Fellowship?
We are a fellowship of believers that meet every Shabbat (Sabbath). Our fellowship meets above a barn on a horse ranch high in the Rocky Mountains where all believers, Jew or Gentile, can come together to fellowship and worship. We recognize the Kingship of Yahshua (Jesus) the Jewish Messiah. As believers in Yahshua, we know we have been bought with a great price and we belong to him.
We know that Yahshua, the Son of God, was born into this world to a Jewish family. His parents were Jewish. His brothers and sisters were Jewish. He lived an observant Jewish life, he was circumcised on the 8th day, He wore a talit, ate Kosher, said the Shema, read the Torah and came to minister to the Jews. His disciples were all Jews. He taught as the Rabbi's taught, though as one with authority. His message was a Jewish message. It is so sad that over the centuries Christianity has stripped Yahshua from his Jewishness. Because of this, Christians have missed out on the rich culture and heritage of the Jewish people.
We recognize the Hebraic foundation and roots of our faith. We are not aligned with any denomination or organization. We have one basis for our doctrine and beliefs…the entire Bible…the Word of God.
- We believe the Bible is the inerrant, unchanging and eternal word of God [Yahweh]. Therefore, we know that Yahweh does not change; He is the same yesterday, today and forever. We believe that no man has the right to change Yahweh's word in any manner whatsoever. Yahweh, through Moses, said we are not to add nor take away from His writings (Deut 4:2 Deut 12:32); Yahshua restated the same in Mathew 5:18. If there is a question as to interpretation or translation, we defer to the original writings in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.
- We acknowledge the TORAH as Yahweh's "instruction manual" for life, His wisdom as our creator, given to us for our benefit at Mt. Sinai. We know that the Bible is a Jewish book written by Jewish authors, in a Jewish culture about the Jewish people and a Jewish Messiah. We also recognize the renewed covenant (new testament) the teaching and promises given to us contained in the gospels.
- We acknowledge Yahshua, the Jewish Messiah, who died as a Jew, he was resurrected as a Jew, ascended to heaven as a Jew and will return as a Jew. There were tens of thousands of Jewish people who believed that Yahshua was the Messiah in the first century.
- By acceptance of Yahshua as our Messiah and Savior we become grafted into the olive tree, the Commonwealth of Israel, where the apostle Paul says there is neither Jew nor Gentile; we shed our identity, we are all one. Paul tells us in Ephesians, "…you are no longer foreigners or strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow-citizens with Yahweh's people and members of Yahweh's family." (Ephesians 2:19 CJB) We belong to the Messiah; we are the seed of Abraham, and thus we are heirs of the promises made by Yahweh to Abraham. Jews and Gentiles shed their identity and come together as part of one unified people, the House of Israel. The Apostle John says we are "Sons of God." (John 1:12).
- Salvation is a work of grace. We repent of going our own way and accept the Lordship of Yahshua in our lives. We are bought with a price and have become servants of the Most High. We obey YHWH's commandments out of love and devotion to Him…not some of the commandments, not only those we like or choose, but all of them. Through the apostle John, YHWH said, "If you love me keep my commandments".
- We reject the popular teaching that the "Old Testament" and its laws, instruction and precepts do not apply to us…that they were "nailed to the cross". That false teaching is totally inconsistent with Yahweh's word, "…because I, Adonai, do not change." (Malachi 3:6) The writer of Hebrews states it succinctly, "Yahshua the Messiah is the same, yesterday and forever". (Hebrews 13:8) If we were supposed to ignore Yahweh's TORAH, Yahshua would have made it abundantly clear to his apostles and instructed them to teach accordingly. Yet every apostle of Yahshua went to their death keeping and teaching the Torah; obeying all of Yahweh's commandments. We must do the same, because…Yahweh has never changed. Yahshua died a sinless man; Yahshua lived according to the Torah…shouldn't we?
- We observe YHWH's mo'adim, His appointed times" that include the 7-th day Sabbath, Passover, Shavuot, Rosh HaShannah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot as well as Hanukkah. Yahweh commanded us to observe His appointed times in Leviticus 23. He used words like "forever' and "for all generations". These festivals have great truths to teach us about the past, present and world to come. Yahshua observed these feasts...shouldn't we?
- We support the nation of Israel, its right to exist and defend itself. We reject the efforts of all men and governments to divide Israel; Israel exists at the will of Yahweh as expressed in His word.
- Some have referred to us as "Jews". Those of us who are not Jews, surely accept that comment as a compliment…Yahshua was a Jew! One day, very soon, as believers we will all worship together, Jews and Gentiles alike, as "Sons of God" in Jerusalem at the feet of Yahshua. We can begin that experience now as we come together at BearTrax Fellowship, Jew and Gentile worshiping the Father together.
Yes, we use different terminology than most other believers to express our faith. For example, we say YAHSHUA, the Hebrew name given to Him by The Father, instead of JESUS. We call ourselves BELIEVERS instead of CHRISTIANS. We refer to our place of worship as CONGREGATIONS or FELLOWSHIPS instead of CHURCHES. We also say MESSIAH instead of CHRIST. Why do we do this? It is simple...the anti-Semitic histroy of the Church has given us these other words...we are using what the Father gave us to begin with.
